New Brunswick restaurateurs can get reimbursed up to $10,000 for each young person they employ between the ages of 18 and 29. This new program aims to help unemployed or underemployed youth gain work experience.
Who’s eligible?
Youth aged 18 to 29 who are:
- unemployed;
- high school students not pursuing post-secondary education; or
- working under 15 hours per week.
How does it work?
Participating restaurateurs can be reimbursed up to $10,000 per employee for 30 hours of employment during 26 consecutive weeks of work. As an employer, you can sign up with the Department of Post-Secondary Education and Training (PETL) to find youth already registered.
