Restaurants Canada has been actively engaged in discussions with the two principle cable companies to mitigate the price increases for Sportsnet and TSN to take effect May 1, 2017. This price increase only affects licensed establishments at this time.
We have good news to share with you regarding the offers and opportunities we have achieved to date, and how these benefit Restaurants Canada members:
Viewing vs. Seating Capacity (Occupancy Rates)
Sportsnet and TSN have both agreed to modify their original positions. Pricing will now be adjusted based on viewing seating capacity, not overall seating capacity – excluding rooms or defined areas where there is no TV or the TV is not viewable.
Rogers
For any business that has signed up for Sportsnet / TSN on a one-year contract, you will have the option of paying for the services on a month-by-month basis.
Existing Rogers customers also have the option to move to the Basic TV cable package for $23.99/ month on a 2-year term, as opposed to the Business VIP package.

Rogers is offering Restaurants Canada members special pricing on Sportsnet and/or TSN channels. To access this pricing, you will simply need to provide your Restaurants Canada membership number. For any questions related to the items above, we encourage you to reach out to Premium Sports, a third-party agency working with Rogers to manage these changes. Bell
Bell is extending flexible pricing that requires only a one-month commitment – allowing you to offer sports channels only in the months you choose.
In addition, Restaurants Canada members who sign up for a Bell TSN/Sportsnet package before May 1 can receive a full refund for such sports packages for the month of May if they cancel by May 30, 2017.
